Overview:

Poon Hill – Ghandruk Trek is a most chosen, best short circuit trekking in Nepal. This classic trail brings you from cultural heritages to breathtaking panoramic view of massive Annapurna Mountains. On the way, enjoy spectacular mountain sceneries, charming cultural lifestyles, cozy teahouses and warmly welcoming of hospitable peoples.

A mosaic beauty of naturally Nepal awaits as you step north-west of Pokhara city. Walking along the colorful trails of rhododendron forest, our trip ascends through the village of Tikhedunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani and to Poon-Hill being the apex point. Poon Hill offers close up view of all Annapurna mountains- including famous Fishtail (6993m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and numerous other, dominating the skyline. On downhill step, we explore reflecting cultural village of Ghandruk, also famous as phenomenal cultural theater of Nepal. On way back we are going to show you geographical and wild lives’ splendor of Pokhara city and Chitwan National Park.


Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1338m)

Welcome in Nepal, an eco-cultural heaven on earth. We will see you at airport with a display board for Nepal All Trekking. After a brief introduction, transfer to a selected hotel. You’ve had a long flight, so we let you rest or enjoy your time on your interest job.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tour

Today, we are going to take you to some of the cultural heritages of Kathmandu. A professional city guide will guide you to UNESCO listed sites: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyabhunath, Boudhnath and Pashupatinath temple. Some of them are under reconstruction as they are damaged by massive earthquake, 2015. After the tour is over, Nepal All trekking will give you detail briefing about entire trip. Overnight  in Kathmandu. 

Day 03: Kathmandu- Pokhara (827m)

Early morning we leave hotel and drive to Pokhara by tourist bus or private vehicle. Pokhara is at 200 km west of Kathmandu, takes 6-7 hours to reach. We pass by windy roads with middle hill’s sceneries. In alternate, you also can fly there. Spend rest of day relaxing and preparing for following day trek.

Day 04: Pokhara- Tikhedunga (1540m)

After breakfast, drive through zigzag way to Nayapul  (1070m), our actual trekking beginning point. Pass by small town, villages, suspension bridges over fast flowing streams and walk along the muddy roadway. We reach to village of Hile for our lunch break and take a relief rest. Further trek along gradual up trail and reach to Tikhedunga for overnight stop today. (4-5 hours trek).

Day 05: Tikhedhunga- Ghorepani (2860m)

The day begins with a challenge. Struggling ascend on stone staircases till to village of Ulleri is like wining a battle. Further trail is gradual up along pleasing rhododendron forest, scattered villages and window view of cheerful mountains. After few hours walk along with several breaks we reach to Ghorepani, a big touristic village under the shadow of mighty peaks. (5-6 hours trek)

Day 06: Ghorepani- Hike to Poon Hill (3210m)- Tadapani (2520m)

The day comes out early with a hike to Poon Hill, apex destination of our trip. It offer incredibly stunning sunrise over wonderful panorama of Annapurna peaks (Annapurna I, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South and many more). Freshen up yourself with eye-catching surrounding and back to lodge for breakfast. We’re back on trekking trail heading towards the village of Tadapani. The path is gradual up down but not challenging. Overnight in a local lodge of Tadapani. (4-5 hours trek)

Day 07: Tadapani- Ghandruk (1950m)

Today we pass by dense forest, mostly downhill.  It is a short pleasing walk with occasional Mountain View and distinct varieties of flora and fauna. Ghandruk is one of the biggest community villages with preserved cultural and historical morals of Gurung community. Visit around the village, explore local’s daily life and overnight in a locally own hotel. (3-4 hours trek)

Day 08: Ghandruk – Pokhara

This is going to be our final day trekking trip. Mostly downhill, walk through scenic landscapes, local villages and lush forest. At Syauli Bazaar, Modi Khola meets us and apparently accompanies till reaching to Birethanti. It is easy walk down to Nayapul from where we will catch a vehicle and drive to Pokhara. Ovenight in Pokhara. (5 hours trek, 1 hour drive)

Day 09: Pokhara- River rafting- Chitwan

After breakfast we leave Pokhara and drive towards Chitwan. En-route we will enjoy white water rafting for 3-4 hours. Get off at around Mugling (Trishuli & Marshyandi river confluence point): rafting put in point from where our fun mixing adventure starts. There are some powerful rapids where you can feel actual thrill. Our experienced rafting guide will help us make our experience a thrill of lifetime. After completion, shift to Chitwan National Park, the wildlife paradise. At evening we will see beautiful sunset view from Rapti River beach and Tharu cultural program.

Day 10: Chitwan National Park tour

Today is going to be a full day jungle activities. By early, we start nature walk deep into the park. An expert nature guide will guide and escort us from dangerous wild lives. Chitwan National park is famous for one-horned rhino, tiger, wild elephant, leopards and other rare fauna and flora species. We also do Elephant back safari, canoe ride and visit elephant breeding center. Overnight Chitwan National Park.

Day 11: Chitwan- Kathmandu   

By tourist bus or private vehicle, drive back to Kathmandu. Chitwan is 164 k m southwest of Kathmandu, in 5 hours driving distance. Reaching Kathmandu check in your hotel and take rest. We let you free ahead. Overnight in Kathmadnu.

Day 12: Departure

Today is final day of this trip. At around three hours prior of your flight time, transfer to airport and fly to your next destination. Nepal All Trekking Family always remembers you and loves to serve you here again in near future.
