Overview:

Everest excursions, a 23 days Nepal trekking plan is a long excursion package making a big circle of Everest region. This is one of the oldest trekking routes to Everest, used by Tenjing Norge Sherpa and Edmond Hillary, the first Everest (8848m) submitters.

Driving 187km from Kathmandu to Jiri, the trail leads us by passing and stopping at various amazing villages en-route. This masterfully planned trekking trail provides you an opportunity to explore the beautiful topography of Khombu/Everest region. Stunning views of Himalayas, green forests, lush-valleys, scattered Sherpa settlements, cultural and religious practices are the specialties of this area. The trek offers the panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, Thamserku, Cho Oyu and numbers of more.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1338m)

A representative from Nepal All Trekking will pick you up from Kathmandu airport and transfer to a chosen hotel. In rest of time either you do rest or discuss about upcoming adventure trip. Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tour, trek preparation

Morning breakfast is followed by sightseeing tour to some of cultural monuments of Kathmandu. A professional city guide will escort us to UNESCO heritages including Swayambhnath stupa, Kathmandu Durbar square, Pashutipatinath temple and Boudhnath stupa. There monuments shows you religions matchup between Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal. After tour there will be a briefing program and preparation of trek like bag packing etc.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m)

After delicious breakfast, start bus drive towards Jiri (187km distance). The road goes for about 8 to 9 hours offering the pleasing serenity of hills, foothills, forests and topography. There will be a peacefull night stay in Jiri.

Day 04: Jiri to Deurali (2710m)

After breakfast, start gradual ascend to Malidanda and then descend down to Shivalaya, a small town at the bank of Khimti River. Admire unique livelihood of mixture peoples and surrounding greeneries. Leaving Shivalaya, the first part is quite steep to Sangma danda and gradual up to Deurali. Overnight in Deurali. (4-5 hours trek)

Day 05: Deurali to Sete

By passing the village of Bhandar, we’ll descend down to Likhu Khola near Kinja village. Likhu Khola is a boarder of Ramechap and Solukhumbu district. Take a lunch break at Kinja and continue on demanding climb towards the village of Sete for overnight stay. (6 hours trek)

Day 06: Sete to Junbesi (2680m)

Today we’ll trek to Junbesi. Walking along the rhododendron, fir, pine and birch forest through uphill trail we’ll pass by Dakhchu, Goyam village and Lamjura La (3530m). In some sections of the trail, you can find some teahouses for tea break. Ahead along the zigzag trail, we’ll reach to Junbesi for night stay. (6-7 hours trek)

Day 07: Junbesi to Nauthala (2330m)

Today is going to be 6 hours trek to Nauthala. In first section, we’ll make gradual ascend to Taksindhu danda and slowly descend down to Nauthala Bazaar. On the way we’ll get the chance to explore some monastery and stupas. Stay overnight in a local teahouse of Nauthala. (6 hours trek)

Day 08: Nauthala to Khari Khola (2040m)

After breakfast, we’ll start descending down to Chhirdi village, cross a suspension bridge over Dudh Khosi River and reach to Jubhing (1680m) for lunch. Ahead we’ll do easy walk to Khari Khola for night stay. (5-6 hours trek)

Day 09: Khari Khola to Paiya (2785m)

Today we’ll trek through dense forest along uphill trail passing over Gumbadanda, Kharte, Khari La Mountain and etc. En-route offers the fine view of mountains. The trail is rocky through alpine forest taking to Paiya village. (5 hours trek)

Day 10: Puiyan to Phakding (2610m)

Today we’ll pass by Surke village and major entrance of Everest region Lukla (2840m). Lukla is a small town with a domestic airport. Further before reaching Phakding, we’ll pass Sherpa villages of Chheplung, Nurning. Overnightt in Phakding. (5-6 hours trek)

Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

After breakfast, the trail leads us along Dudh Koshi River and lush pine forest via several traditional Sherpa villages. This day offers the finest view of Mt Thamserku (6618m) and inspiring glimpse of Everest from Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Further we’ll ascend a couple of hour to Namche Bazaar for overnight stay. (5-6 hours trek)

Day 12: Namche bazaar: day rest

For this day we’ll set a day rest in Namche Bazaar, allowing our body adopt with the elevation. But instead of staying whole day at a place, we recommend to visit around the town, also hike to Khumjung.  Khumjung is the large traditional Sherpa village offering the fine view of Thamserku, Ama Dablam and Everest.  Overnight Namche. (3-4 hours hike).

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)

Today we are going to biggest and oldest Sherpa village in the world: Tengboche. From Namche, trail ascends along lush pine forest, passes by village of Sansa and then goes down to cross the suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River. Further we’ll enter into the Imja khola valley and eventually an uphill trail joins us to Tengboche. Stay overnight in a local guesthouse of Tengboche. (5-6 hous trek)

Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)

In first part of today’s journey, we’ll descend down to a scattered village of Debuche with number of Mani walls, chortens and nunneries. Further trail leads us upward to Pangboche village and Imja Khola. A section of another steep climb takes us to another big Sherpa village of Dingboche for overnight set up. Enjoy the stunning view of Mt Ama Dablam (6856m). (5-6 hours trek)

Day 15: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)

Leaving Dingboche we’ll walk along Yak pastures around Dusa and Dughla village (4620m). From Dughla, path is pretty steep extending along the moraine of Khumbu glacier. En-route offers the charming view of Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Khumbutse, Everest and more. Stay overnight in Lobuche. (4-5 hours trek)

Day 16: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) - EBC (5364m)

Today we’ll reach to focal point of our trip: the Everest Base Camp (5364m). Walking along barren moraines of Khumbu Glacier, reach to Gorak Shep for lunch and baggage set up. Thereafter we’ll continue ascend to EBC to visualize impressive 360 degree high rising mountains. Celebrate the success and return back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay. (7-8 hours trek)

Day 17: Hike to Kalapatthar, trek to Lobuche (4910m)

This morning we’ll summit the highest point of our trip, Kalapatthar (5550m). Start early in order to catch eye sharpening sunrise over the towering Everest family. Enjoy the view of Mt Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Cho-Oyu (8201m), Pumori (7145m) and many more. After enough collection of memories in our mind and camera, walk back to Gorak Shep, eat breakfast, set bags and continue descend down all the way back to Lobuche. (6-7 hours trek)

Day 18: Lobuche to Tengboche (3860m)

Today is going to be an easy downhill walk to Tengboche via Dughla, Pheriche, Somare, Pangboche and etc. villages. Admire local livelihood and cultural practices. Stay overnight in locally own guest house of Tengboche. (4-5 hours trek)

Day 19: Tengboche to Monjo (2835m)

Today also all we do is walk along downhill trail through rivers, rhododendron and for forests. Sometime one might see some kind of Himalayan faunas and medicinal herbs. We’ll stop at Namche Bazaar for lunch and some rest. Following the path of Dudh Koshi River, retrace down to Monjo for overnight stay. (4-5 hours trek) 

Day 20: Monjo to Lukla (2840m)

Today is the last of trekking journey. Descending through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests, we’ll make all the way down to Lukla. Enjoy your last night in Everest foothill. (4-5 hours trek)

Day 21: Lukla to Kathmandu

By morning flight, fly back to Kathmandu. This is a lifetime chance to see most of highest mountains in one glimpse. Upon arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel and overnight stay. (30 minutes flight)

Day 22: Free day in Kathmandu

Today we let you free in Kathmandu. Either you take rest or roam around the ancient cities and heritages. Visiting around Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square is recommended. Overnight Kathmandu.

Day 23: Final departure

At about three hours before your scheduled flight, transfer to airport and fly to your next destination. Nepal All Trekking hopes to see you again.
